What a wild-ride fight directing The Maids was!
I had the absolute pleasure of jumping into this bold, boundary-pushing production with the incredible team at Putrid Brat Theatre right here in Edmonton.
Honestly, it’s always a thrill to bring some staged chaos to life!
This show was packed with raw storytelling, and it was so exciting to help create some fierce moments of staged violence to match. Huge props to the cast and crew for their talent and trust.
This team, though!!

This production of The Maids, written by Jean Genet and translated by Martin Crimp, was intense, unsettling, and full of life—the perfect kind of challenge for a fight director. Every hit, slap, and crawl had a story behind it, and getting to shape that alongside such a dedicated team was an absolute blast.
I’m so grateful to be part of Edmonton’s thriving theatre community, where creativity knows no bounds. A massive thank-you to Putrid Brat Theatre and the entire Maids crew for letting me join the fun.
Until next time wonders! 😉
